Lugu Lake & return drive to Lijiang, China
May 22, 2008

Our bus left that morning, so we only had time to take a boat to an island on the lake before leaving. The drive back to Lijiang was about 7 hours long.

What a beautiful morning!

Our bus driver stopped at the same lookout point on the return drive. At first we thought this was unnecessary, but the weather was beautiful that day (providing an even better view than our first time at the lookout), and it was a nice way to say goodbye to the lake.

The toilet (WC) pictured here won the award for most disgusting toilet I saw in China.

Lijiang

This guy (Aguan) worked for a shipping company that was going to ship a piece of art I bought but it ended up being too expensive (long story...). He never had foreign friends before and wanted to take us out for beer. Weird night.

At night, the old town of Lijiang turns into streets of active, loud bars. The videos below demonstrate the craziness and absurdity of the whole evening.
